PM Scholarship or Prime Minister Scholarship  Scheme (PMSS) is meant to support higher studies or provide financial assistance towards of martyred soldiers belonging to the armed forces and their widows pursuing professional degree courses such as engineering, medicine, dentistry, veterinary science management (MBA), computer applications (MCA), etc.

PM Scholarship 2024-25 provides scholarships to children and spouses of martyrs’ ex-servicemen and serving soldiers from all units of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Assam Rifles, Central Armed Police Forces, and Railway Protection Force/Special Reserve Police Force. 

Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has further announced that this program will also benefit families of martyred police officers in Union Territories and States across the country starting from the academic session 2019-20. A scholarship will be awarded to dependents of serving officials depending on availability. The deadline for submitting online applications for the PM Scholarship Scheme 2024 was 31st January 2024.

Eligible Courses Under the PM Scholarship

• Initial professional degree programs are for instance BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS, B.Ed, B.B.A, BCA, B.Pharma, etc. which are duly recognized by the respective Government Regulatory Bodies like All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), Medical Council of India(MCI) among other such entities.
• PMSS doesn’t allow Master’s degree courses except for MBA/MCA programs.
  Different individuals getting education outside their countries do not qualify for this scheme. In addition to this, no program offered in distance learning be undertaken under PMSS. Additionally, PMSS is awarded for only ONE course.

Eligibility Criteria (PM Scholarship 2024-25)

If you attended a Bachelor’s course, you must obtain at least 60% in your 10+2. However, if you are pursuing a Master’s degree with confirmation, your graduation marks should also be above or equal to that value. A crucial requirement is to get 60% marks. The individuals below are entitled to apply for PM Scholarship 2024-25.

• Wives and children of former, serving, and martyred soldiers of BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, and Assam Rifles
•  Wives and children of martyrs and ex-servicemen of the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard
•  Wives and children of State and Union territory police forces who have been martyred in Naxalism or terrorist attacks
• RPF and SRPF include wives and children of retired and ex-servicemen

Online Registration for PM Scholarship 2024-25 

Enrolling for PM Scholarship 2024-25 on the National Scholarship Portal is easy by following the steps below.

• First, open the official website of the National Scholarship Entrance at https://sholarships.gov.in/.
  On the homepage of this site, press the “New Registration” link in Applicant Corner.
• Now check on the “Project” checkbox and press the continue button from the opened page.
• Now validate your mobile number in the first step and your aadhaar number in the second step. 
• After that, the registration form will appear on your screen; fill it out carefully and click the “Register” Button.

Login with User ID and Password (PMSS)

Rewards Provided in PM Scholarship 2024

• The Indian Government has recently made drastic alterations to the PM award by revising the Scholarship prize amount for girls from Rs. 2,250 to Rs. 3,000 per month whereas for boys it is changing from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,500 per month.
