PM Scholarship or Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) is meant to support higher studies or provide financial assistance towards of martyred soldiers belonging to the armed forces and their widows pursuing professional degree courses such as engineering, medicine, dentistry, veterinary science management (MBA), computer applications (MCA), etc.
PM Scholarship 2024-25 provides scholarships to children and spouses of martyrs’ ex-servicemen and serving soldiers from all units of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Assam Rifles, Central Armed Police Forces, and Railway Protection Force/Special Reserve Police Force.
Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has further announced that this program will also benefit families of martyred police officers in Union Territories and States across the country starting from the academic session 2019-20. A scholarship will be awarded to dependents of serving officials depending on availability. The deadline for submitting online applications for the PM Scholarship Scheme 2024 was 31st January 2024.

Eligible Courses Under the PM Scholarship
- Initial professional degree programs are for instance BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS, B.Ed, B.B.A, BCA, B.Pharma, etc. which are duly recognized by the respective Government Regulatory Bodies like All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), Medical Council of India(MCI) among other such entities.
- PMSS doesn’t allow Master’s degree courses except for MBA/MCA programs.

If you attended a Bachelor’s course, you must obtain at least 60% in your 10+2. However, if you are pursuing a Master’s degree with confirmation, your graduation marks should also be above or equal to that value. A crucial requirement is to get 60% marks.
