Main Objectives of Ladli Lakshmi Yojana

  • The main goal of this policy is to encourage the birth and education of girls while providing support to parents for their education and wedding expenses. Additional aims of the plan include:
  • Supporting the education, health, and overall development of girl children in the state. The other objective of launching the Ladli Lakshmi Yojana is to control the population and encourage families for only two children, regardless of gender.
  • Another goal is to depress child marriage by taking care of the girl child’s education.
  • To make girls aware of their rights, and duties, encourage towards education, and make them self-reliant.
  • Another key reason for this scheme is to improve the sex ratio in the state. With the help of this policy, parents can celebrate the birth of the girl child without worrying about her education and marriage expenses. This would suppress female infanticide in the state.
